Living in the Language House is a great way to belong to the Goucher community! It’s a fun and friendly space. When you’re around, feel free to say hi to Maite or Gwendoline, the two Language House directors.
The Language House is situated in Welsh Hall on Goucher campus in Towson, Maryland. It is a living and learning community that provides students with the opportunity to foster their learning of foreign languages and culture. Speaking a foreign language and attending different foreign language and cultural events is the central focus of programming within the Language House.
When students are accepted in the program, they commit to improving their foreign language and cultural skills. Language House residents are required to attend at least eight Language House activities per semester. Activities range from language tables (dinner and conversation in the target language at one of the dining halls on campus), cooking activities, concert outings, museum visits, dinners, movies and TV shows, karaoke nights and more!
