Revelance is a music publication founded by the Goucher College music journalism class taught by music critic Katie Moulton. The staff (and class) is comprised of Alli Rose, Chris Longo, Drew Pitts, Frances McPheely, Madison Webb, and River Rowe. Revelance reviews local concerts, chats with musicians, and reports on the songs and artists Goucher Gophers are currently listening to.
You may be thinking, don’t you mean relevance? No, it’s not a typo.
During our copyediting lesson (most of us hadn’t practiced since the fifth grade), we came across the word revelance. It was a misspelling of the word relevance, a mistake so slight that it almost slipped under our radar. We agreed that revelance sounds like a real word, so we made it the title of our journal and gave it meaning.
