Message From the President

Our institution has never settled for merely responding to change. Rather, we are committed to shaping it through strategic planning and partnerships designed for this moment in time. Grounded in access, equity, and a deep commitment to social justice and responsibility, we are building a culturally responsive ecosystem where every campus community member can thrive academically and professionally. As evidenced by our record number of undergraduate applications, when mission and moment converge, institutions don’t just survive—they thrive.

Kent Devereaux

This cherished tradition is a powerful gathering that recognizes two decades of resilience, achievement, and the profound impact of our African American community.

Proactive Approach to Forging Strategic Partnerships

Goucher established the first university retirement community in the state and will be home to the corporate headquarters of one of the nation’s leaders in construction management, both of which offer unique revenue and educational opportunities.

'The Chronicle' Highlights Modern Approaches to Teaching Evaluation

Michael McCreary, an educational developer at Goucher’s Center for the Advancement of Scholarship and Teaching (CAST), was featured this month in The Chronicle of Higher Education’s teaching section, where he shared insight on teaching evaluations and how to implement modern approaches. CAST creates space for faculty to critically reflect on existing teaching practices while exploring new pedagogical approaches

Hands-on Learning in the Classroom

One of the many benefits of a small liberal arts college is the hands-on learning and mentorship opportunities our students experience across the curriculum. We are shining a spotlight on just a few of the students who recently put their education into action through collaborative research and hands-on learning opportunities in the classroom. Interdisciplinary, experiential learning will be central to the new Lewent Science Center that will open next year.
