{"id":37,"date":"2013-11-26T20:55:20","date_gmt":"2013-11-26T20:55:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.goucher.edu\/mindfulness\/?page_id=37"},"modified":"2014-12-04T02:19:25","modified_gmt":"2014-12-04T02:19:25","slug":"university-college-centers-of-research","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.goucher.edu\/mindfulness\/neuroscience\/university-college-centers-of-research\/","title":{"rendered":"University \/ College Centers of Research"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many Universities are researching neuroplasticity and mindfulness, but most pale in comparison to the Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC) at UCLA.<\/p>\n<p>They are currently Researching:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Breast Cancer and Mindfulness<\/li>\n<li>Mindfulness Research at UCLA Psychoneuroimmunology Center<\/li>\n<li>Mindfulness Awareness Practices (MAPs) in education<\/li>\n<li>MAPs for ADHD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to their research, they offer <a href=\"http:\/\/marc.ucla.edu\/body.cfm?id=107\">weekly free guided meditation podcast via the hammer<\/a>, Daylong retreats, Classes (Both online and in-person), and free drop-in meditation sessions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>It isn&#8217;t as big as the MARC, but UCSD also has a center for mindfulness based research that is more based around classes and less on the research.
