{"id":4237,"date":"2022-10-12T13:05:59","date_gmt":"2022-10-12T17:05:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.goucher.edu\/magazine\/?p=4237"},"modified":"2025-07-24T15:57:57","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T19:57:57","slug":"natalie-van-breukelen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.goucher.edu\/magazine\/natalie-van-breukelen\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty &amp; Staff Corner: Natalie Van Breukelen"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"color: #004c97\">Meet Natalie Van Breukelen, assistant professor of practice in the Biological Sciences and Post-Baccalaureate Premedical programs.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #004c97\"><em><strong>What awesome things did you work on over the summer?<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This summer I had an amazing opportunity to travel to Texas with two Goucher students (<span style=\"color: #004c97\"><strong>Will Frasier \u201925<\/strong><\/span> and <strong><span style=\"color: #004c97\">Finley Lindsey \u201923<\/span>)<\/strong> to conduct field research at Independence Creek Reserve. This was partially supported by the Goucher Summer Research Program and also by a grant I was awarded from Western North American Naturalist. The students were then able to present their research at the Landmark Symposium. It was a great experience!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #004c97\">What are you looking forward to this academic year?<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am excited for the nutrition class and to teach my CPED in the spring again. I love teaching non-majors classes and helping make science fun and accessible for everyone!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Natalie Van Breukelen is assistant professor of
