Each year, the Kratz Center for Creative Writing at Goucher College offers summer writing fellowships that range from between $2,000 to $4,000. The Kratz Center is pleased to welcome this year’s Summer Writing Fellows (in alphabetical order):<\/p>\n

Nessa Rose Brooks<\/strong> <\/span>will<\/span> write a series of poems inspired by <\/span>rail <\/span>travel<\/span> around Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ariana Collier<\/span><\/strong> will<\/span> write a murder mystery\/family drama set in Eastern Europe<\/span>, with specific attention<\/span>to<\/span> locations in <\/span>Hungary and Serbia<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Max Davis<\/span><\/strong> will<\/span> research Baltimore and its historically significant<\/span> surrounding area<\/span>s<\/span> to write a series of short stories based thematically in dark<\/span> historical fiction.<\/span><\/p>\n

Olivia DeSena<\/span><\/strong> will<\/span> take a road trip to \u201chaunted\u201d locations serially visited by accredited<\/span> \u201cghost hunters\u201d to write a horror fiction novella about a ghost hunter trio.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nikki Johnson<\/span><\/strong> will<\/span> spend two weeks in <\/span>\u00d6land<\/span>, Sweden, <\/span>to<\/span> complete cultural research for her novel entitled, <\/span>T<\/span>he End<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kira Morton<\/span><\/strong> will<\/span> write a series of poems exploring the impacts of gentrification in the Pacific Northwest, specifically in Portland and Seattle<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tovah <\/span>Oslovich<\/span> <\/strong>will<\/span> travel to Ireland\/Northern Ireland <\/span>to research and <\/span>write poems <\/span>involving <\/span>Irish folklore,<\/span> history<\/span>, and her own <\/span>Irish heritage<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Willow Meir<\/span><\/strong> will<\/span> explore Alaskan parks and cities <\/span>as <\/span>world-build<\/span>ing research<\/span> for a short fiction series<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maya Platt-<\/span>Chilkotowsky<\/span><\/strong> will travel to <\/span>Marburg, Germany, the town where the Brothers Grimm <\/span>wrote <\/span>many of their classic fairy tales, <\/span>to research and <\/span>write short story retellings of fairy tales with a connection to both historic and present<\/span>-day<\/span> Marburg<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Taylor Rogers<\/span><\/strong> will <\/span>travel to Edinburgh, Scotland, to research and write a <\/span>horror novel <\/span>taking place during <\/span>the city\u2019s <\/span>famed F<\/span>ringe <\/span>F<\/span>estival.<\/span><\/p>\n
