Stand up 2 Cancer has excerpted a passage from Nancy Sharp’s memoir, Both Sides Now. Sharp is a 2012 graduate of Goucher’s MFA in Creative Nonfiction program.

Michael Capuzzo’s New York Times bestseller Close to Shore has been optioned by director David O. Russell (Three Kings, The Fighter).  In its review of the book by the 2011 graduate of Goucher’s MFA in Creative Nonfiction program, The New Yorker called it an “adventure classic” with “artistry reminiscent of Stephen Crane.” People magazine named it one

Nsenga K. Burton, chair of the department of communication and media studies, has been selected as a fellow to the Scripps Howard Journalism Entrepreneurship Institute in January 2013. Burton is one of the elite group of journalism educators selected from an international pool of qualified applicants to participate in the program.

The New York Times article “Returning to the Scene of a Memoir,” a profile of National Book Award finalist in nonfiction Domingo Martinez, was written by Laura Tillman, a 2013 alumna of Goucher’s MFA in Creative Nonfiction program.
