Good Prose, co-authored by Richard Todd, lecturer in Goucher’s creative nonfiction master’s program, was named one of the Best Books of 2013 by Kirkus Reviews. “Other writing guides have more nuts and bolts advice, but few combine the verve and plainspokenness of this book, which exemplifies its title,” said the review.

Kathe Lison’s book The Whole Fromage was one of Amazon’s picks for Best of the Year for 2013 in the food writing category. Lison, a 2006 master’s in creative nonfiction graduate from Goucher, also taped two segments of the program Travel with Rick Steves.

Holly Sneeringer, a 2012 master’s in creative nonfiction graduate from Goucher, was awarded the Orlando Creative Nonfiction Prize for her essay “Under Water” by the Room of Her Own Foundation.
