The tournament, held by the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, will raise money for the scholarship fund honoring Matt Gabriel, a Goucher student who died last year. Goucher faculty Elisa Koehler and Rhoda Jeng perform a program at 8p.m. in Merrick Lecture Hall, featuring Ponchielli’s Trumpet Concerto and Eric Ewazen’s Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Brahms for flugelhorn and piano. Participants in this workshop will use texts and blocking to create poems and narratives. Tea, cookies, and all poetry-making materials will be provided. Found Poetry, organized by Andrew Huff ’14 and the Academic Center for Excellence, will be held at 7 p.m. in Julia Rogers 233.
Goucher is exhibiting two new art shows. In Curvature of the Earth, Joyce Anitagrace presents mixed-media works concerning logic and art, and in OTHER, five artists explore various aspects of gender. The artists’ receptions will be held 6-9 p.m. in Rosenberg Gallery and Silber Art Gallery, respectively.
