President José Bowen is leaving no stone unturned to get ready for the start of the upcoming school year. The soundtrack was composed and recorded by none other than President Bowen, himself.

Here’s the first in a three-part blog series in which President Jose A. Bowen explains why a student’s major takes a back seat to his or her ability to think critically, the goal of a true liberal arts education.

In this second blog post of a three-part series, President Bowen presents research to question his hypothesis that a college major doesn’t matter, and he argues for the values of the liberal arts in the long run.

This is the last segment of President Bowen’s three-part blog series meant to get students to relax about picking their major. His advice is to pursue a broad education and become a professional learner.
