Reproductive rights activist and author Cristina Page ’93 will give a talk titled “The War on Contraception: High Stakes This Presidential Election Year” on Monday, September 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Kelley Lecture Hall.

Page is author of How the Pro-Choice Movement Saved America: Freedom, Politics and the War on Sex, which recently was voted one of the 30 all-time most important feminist books by readers of Ms. magazine for exposing the pro-life movement’s war on contraception. She is a prominent reproductive rights activist and consults for several national pro-choice groups, including the Center for Reproductive Rights and the National Institute for Reproductive Health. Page is also the co-founder of the Adoption Access Network, a nationwide consortium of pro-choice adoption agencies.
Her pro-choice policy proposals have been adopted by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington state legislatures.
Page has worked in the editorial departments of Glamour and Ms. magazines and edited The Smart Girl’s Guide to College. Her op-eds have appeared in hundreds of newspapers nationwide, including The New York Times, The Guardian UK, The Chicago Sun Times, Newsday, and The Baltimore Sun. She is a regularly featured contributor to The Huffington Post and moderates an online forum for RH Reality Check, which serves individuals and organizations that advance sexual and reproductive health and rights.
