Ipsos: A French Success Story

Sophie Lalanne, former executive co-director of the global market research company Ipsos, will present “Ipsos: A French Success Story” as the third annual Evelyn Myers ’37 French Lecture on Thursday, September 20, at 7 p.m. in Kelley Lecture Hall.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Flo Martin, professor of French, at fmartin@goucher.edu

Headquartered in Paris, Ipsos was founded in 1975 and now has offices in 84 countries. The company has organized its business into several areas of specialization: advertising research; marketing research; media, content and technology research; opinion polls and social research; loyalty, quality and customer relationship management research; and survey management, data collection, and delivery. Ipsos tests and evaluates brands, products, promotions, advertising, marketing, customer satisfaction, and public opinion for its clients by conducting surveys through telephone interviews, face-to-face interviews, and panels.

Lalanne will discuss how Ipsos has become the third-largest global market research company in an industry dominated by Anglo organizations.

This event is sponsored by the Evelyn Myers ’37 Endowed Lecture Fund, which enables the Department of Modern Language and Literature to present a talk or other event to expose students to French and Francophone culture, language, and literature.
