Juliette Wells

To kick off the exhibit “Literature in English, 1713-1913” at Union College, Goucher Associate Professor of English Juliette Wells spoke about the reception and reworking of Pride and Prejudice in America today. Wells, the author of Everybody’s Jane: Jane Austen in the Popular Imagination, spoke of the book’s reception throughout history and examined contemporary adaptations of Austen’s novel, focusing mainly on erotic, spiritual, and zombified retellings of the text.
