Goucher College has a full schedule of nonpartisan, politically themed events planned this fall to help community members get informed and vote responsibly on Tuesday, November 6.
Sunday, August 26
An Enemy of the People
Goucher will present Kwame Kwei-Armah, the artistic director of Baltimore’s Center Stage and director of An Enemy of the People, in conjunction with this year’s summer reading discussion and presentation. In the 1950 version of An Enemy of thePeople, prominent playwright Arthur Miller adapted and Americanized the original five-act stage drama written by Henrik Ibsen in 1882. The play addresses what they regarded as the irrational tendencies of “the masses,” and the hypocritical and corrupt nature of the political system they support.
