Strengthening Systems:
Philanthropic dollars, specifically through the Greater Goucher Fund and other sources of funding, provides vital support for our departments and equipment needs.
Philanthropy, including endowed funds as well as unrestricted gifts to the Greater Goucher Fund, supports a variety of initiatives and needs for our campus community. The generosity of alumni and friends enabled the college and the Office of the Provost to approve the purchases of several vital pieces of equipment for our faculty and students, including but not limited to:
- a laboratory water distillery for the Department of Biochemistry and Biomolecular Biology
- several iWorx Systems, which provided equipment kits for the Department of Biology
- a smartboard and a Macbook Mini for art exhibitions within the Collaborative Humanities Laboratory, a space with equipment utilized by the Goucher Art Galleries, the Department of Visual and Material Culture, and the Library
This support will enable students and faculty alike the opportunity to advance their scholarly work with modernized equipment for their day-to-day classroom, research, and exhibition activities.
