Our Vision

Because relationships are at the heart of a Goucher education, we’re creating an even more meaningful campus life experience by introducing living-learning environments that extend education from the classroom to the residence hall.
As we navigate a new era in higher education, Goucher’s modernized curriculum and state-of-the-art facilities will enhance our focus on innovation. We have already begun this journey with the completion of the first building in the new first-year village complex, Pagliaro Selz Hall, which strengthens co-curricular community space, brings faculty back to live on campus, and includes many aspects that help to better prepare our students for the jobs of the future.
We will continue to make some substantial changes including: overhauling multiple buildings, creating more on-campus faculty housing, forming one large central dining facility in the heart of campus, and building competitive athletics facilities with multi-sports turf fields, state-of-the-art natatorium, and new tennis and equestrian centers. These changes will also create more open green spaces for community-building.
Where students live dramatically impacts their Goucher experience. Creating a stronger residential community enables students to learn more effectively. Research shows that students who are happy with their residential life on campus are more likely to excel and graduate on time.
As we position the college as a leader in the liberal arts, we want to deepen our commitment to community and to learning. We know you can’t have one without the other.
