The “What Matters to Me and Why?” series continues today, Wednesday March 14th, with Angelo Robinson, assistant professor of English here at Goucher. Angelo is an Americanist with a specialization in African American literature and culture with a concentration in American Studies. The title of his presentation is “Love is all that Matters.” Come and enjoy his reflections on what matters to him and why today at 2:30 p.m. in the Geen Community Room.

The Gopher Hole is cranking it up this Friday and Saturday. We’ve got a great line-up of live music for your aural pleasure. Starting at 10 p.m. on Friday night Bucky Smith will be melting faces with their pure rocktitude. Then at 11 Eddie Emokpae will keep the party going with his supreme virtuosity. Saturday is just as good. At 10 p.m. sit back and let the smooth riffs of Velvet Jones’ Diary surround you like a warm, sudsy, aromatic bath with hints of lilac and thyme. At 11, Deltinu trades in their lacrosse sticks for rock sticks and create music in its purest essence. Join your fellow Goucherians on Saturday, April 14th as they brave the hustle and bustle of New York City. Take in all the sights and sounds of the city that never sleeps (according to Frank Sinatra), so be sure you buy your ticket before they are sold out. Tickets can be purchased at the Information Desk for only $15! If you want to bring a friend along that doesn’t go to Goucher, its only $20 for their ticket. Faculty and staff tickets go on sale March 26th and cost $20. Guests tickets of faculty and staff cost $25. Stop by Pearlstone Cafe tomorrow, March 9th, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and have your voice heard! Come talk about what matters to you as a Goucher student, faculty or staff member - what makes you sad about Goucher, what makes you happy about Goucher, what makes you want to stick your head out of a window and shout “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not gonna take it anymore,” basically anything that you feel about Goucher and want to share, the people at this conversation want to listen. This ongoing dialogue is open to the entire community, so drop in as your schedule allows and stay as long or short as you like.

To start the show, Magictainment will dazzle the audience with sleight of hand and mind blowing illusions. Then, following their one hour performance, stick around for the Goucher premier of “The Prestige” with the all star cast of Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Scarlett Johansson. Don’t miss your chance to catch a great basketball game Sunday, April 15th as the Washington Wizards take on the Chicago Bulls. This game has playoff implications written all over it. Tickets are $20, and include a seat at the game and transportation to and from the Verizon Center. The bus leaves from Dorsey Center at 1:30 p.m. and tip-off time is 3:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale for students only, and can be purchased at the Information Desk.
