Goucher Psychology Attends the 2016 Meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association (EPA)

In March 2016, Goucher psychology students and faculty members attended and presented five research posters at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association (EPA) in New York City.

McCabe & Friedman-Wheeler teams (learning strategies) - EPA 2015

Dr. Ann McKim, though recently retired, sent her research team members Rebecca Byler (’16), Blake Fisher (’16), Danielle McCreary (‘16), Amanda Paulino (‘16), and Emily Lindsay (’16) to present the poster, “Awakening the Senses: The Energizing Effects of Grapefruit Scent.”

Dr. McCabe presented a poster with Goucher alum, Blair Shevlin (‘13), entitled, “Relationship Between Responses and Reaction Times on the Cognitive Reflection Test.” Also attending the conference were Goucher students Abigail Sickles (’16) and Sarah Hochberg (’16).

Dr. Friedman-Wheeler and Kari DeVault (’16) also presented a poster co-authored with Dr. Jennifer McCabe and other Goucher students entitled, “Mindfulness in the College Classroom.”

Dr. Katherine Choe attended the conference with research team members Tara Brightbill (’16), Michelle Tweedie (’16), Danielle Hallacker (’17), Leah Recasner (’18), and Emily Miller (‘16). They presented two posters entitled, “Children’s Moral Judgement in the Presence and Absence of an Authority Figure” and “The Influence of Emotion on the Perception of Temporal Duration in Children.”
