Goucher Signs the American Campus Act on Climate Pledge

Goucher College is one of more than 200 colleges and universities that have signed the American Campus Act on Climate Pledge to demonstrate support for strong international climate action.

Goucher, also a signer of the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment, is already taking significant action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase campus sustainability, and incorporate environmental action into academics and co-curricular activities.

On Thursday, November 19, the White House launched the American Campuses Act on Climate Day to highlight important work being done to act on climate at colleges, voice support for strong agreement moving forward, and discuss future steps that leaders in higher education can take toward a low-carbon, sustainable future.

“Hundreds of colleges and universities, and hundreds of thousands of students, have pledged to the White House that they will act on climate,” said Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Gina McCarthy. “We have the momentum, and young people are leading the way!”
