Supernatural: In the Face of Danger

In the new exhibit Supernatural: In the Face of Danger, artists F. Lennox Campello, Ric Garcia, Carla Goldberg, Jeannette L. Herrera, Simon Monk, Richard Schellenberg, Andrew Wodzianski, and Nicholas Zimbro explore various aspects of heroes and their place in culture.

Superheroes are making their way into many contemporary artists’ visual lexicon. Epitomizing the timeless battle of good versus evil, the hero and villain offer a narrative in which the righteous always prevail. These eight artists expand upon these notions, offering viewers a unique and fresh perspective.

This exhibit, which is free and open to the public, runs in the Silber Art Gallery in the Ungar Athenaeum on Goucher’s campus from Tuesday, September 8, to Sunday, October 11. The art can be viewed Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. An artists’ reception will be held Friday, September 18, 6-9 p.m., with an artists’ talk at 7:30 p.m.
