Longtime Equestrian Coach Patte Zumbrun Recipient of Lifetime Achievement Award

Former Goucher College Equestrian Program Director Patte Zumbrun has been awarded the 2015 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Lifetime Achievement Award. Zumbrun joins 22 equestrian team coaches who have been presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award over the 48-year history of the association.

As the director at Goucher from 1987 to 2013, she is credited with developing one of the top varsity riding teams in the Mid-Atlantic region. During her tenure at Goucher, the team earned six IHSA Zone IV Region 1 Champion Team titles, five Zone IV Region 1 reserve team titles, and three qualifying trips for the team to the IHSA National Championships, including two top ten finishes.

In 2008 and 2013, she was recognized by United States National Equestrian Organization for Hunters and Jumpers and by the American National Riding Commission with its Professional Service Award and in 2013, she won the United States Hunter Jumper Association Affiliate Sportsmanship Southeast Regional Award. Zumbrun will also be inducted into the Goucher College Athletic Hall of Fame Thursday, April 23.

Zumbrun will receive her IHSA Lifetime Achievement Award Saturday, March 28, during the IHSA Hunter Seat Zone Championships at Goucher College.
