Goucher Playwrights Open Studio Readings, Volume IV

The Department of Theatre presents Goucher Playwrights Open Studio Readings, Volume IV on Tuesday, November 18, and Wednesday, November 19,7 – 9 p.m. in the Mildred Dunnock Theatre. This free reading series of play-in-progress showcases excerpts of students in Assistant Professor Alvin Eng’s playwriting classes.

“We often hear about the actor having to proverbially stand naked before an audience,” Eng says. “While they may be standing alone, they are always cloaked in the words of the playwright. For the playwright, creating this armor of spirit and craft is a long, often arduous, but ultimately fulfilling journey. The first vital step of that journey is a reading.
“For this event, we are honored to be collaborating with guest artists from Associate Professor Rebecca Free’s Acting I class.”
