Michael Capuzzo’s New York Times bestseller Close to Shore has been optioned by director David O. Russell (Three Kings, The Fighter). In its review of the book by the 2011 graduate of Goucher’s MFA in Creative Nonfiction program, The New Yorker called it an “adventure classic” with “artistry reminiscent of Stephen Crane.” People magazine named it one of the Top Ten Book of the Year when it was published in 2002.
