Every summer Goucher’s Alumni Organization puts together a send off for new first year students. This year the July/August send offs are in DC, Connecticut, South Jersey, North Jersey, New York, California, and Baltimore (there was already a Baltimore one in June though).  If you are from any of these areas, I highly recommend going to the send off. I went last year and it was really nice.  You meet fellow classmates from your area, as well as meeting a few students who are in other classes from your area. I will actually be going to the send off for students from the DC area. It is very nice way to start meeting people who you will be spending the next four years with.
