Wow so my summer has been CRAZY! mostly good crazy though!

The evening of July 4th I got a call from a family friend asking me to work at the camp her friend started this year. The second session was about to begin and the number of campers was going to double and they desperately needed another qualified counselor. I was really nervous about asking to take the two weeks off from my internship but the woman who asked me is an amazing friend who has always helped me in the last 11 years that I’ve known her so I had to try. As it turned out my boss was totally cool with it. So that Friday night at 10 pm I confirmed that I was going to sleep away camp in Maine. Sunday morning at 6am I was on the bus.

Camp MoveIt is an all girls camp with a big emphasis on performing arts and media. Seriously, it was exactly the camp I was looking for from the time I was 9 to 17. I’m not even kidding. A fashion designer came in and each girl designed her own outfit and then modeled it in a fashion show. A group also came in and helped the girls write and record their own songs and they were AMAZING!!!! It was so exciting! They ran a triathalon and we went white water rafting and lobster boating and did all this great stuff! I got to teach photography and editing. Of course there was more than a fair share of drama (50 girls, 1 camp, you get it) but all in all it was a very cool experience, not to mention the location was incredible.

Now I’m back in the city and having a ton of fun at work. Tuesday was my NINETEENTH BIRTHDAY!!!! and then wednesday, just an awesome coincidence, the Z100 sales managers took us on a suprise field trip to go GO KARTING!!!! oh man it was so fun! Of course its a rare occurence but we all had an amazing time.

I’m going to Boston for the weekend to see two of my best friends and i’m so happy and I can’t wait to get there!
