Jessica Anya Blau is the author of the 2008 bestselling novel The Summer of the Naked Swim Parties. The book was named a Top Summer Read by The TODAY show, The New York Post, and New York Magazine. Cosmopolitan Magazine listed it as a “Sexy Summer Read” and book clubs across the country are still programming the novel. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University’s Writing Seminars Masters program, Ms. Blau has also published well over twenty-five short stories in some of the country’s leading literary magazines. Jessica published her second novel Drinking Closer to Home in 2011. She also has received a number of prestigious awards such as the “Family Matters,” Glimmer Train Finalist in 2008, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference Scholarship in August of 2003, the Santa Barbara Independent Fiction Contest Winner in July 1998, and the Eclectica Featured Writer in August 1997.
Ms. Blau was born in Boston and raised in Southern California. She attended The University of California, Berkeley. She lives in Baltimore, Maryland with her husband and two children. She teaches fiction at Johns Hopkins University.
