Cuentame del evento…
Edgar Reyes will run a workshop and lead a conversation at Impact Hub around why he believes there should be a strong alliance in he Baltimore between the African American and Latino community.
Reyes will lead a collaborative art making session for a piece that will be displayed at Impact Hub Baltimore for a week. Everyone who attends would be asked to color in an individual part of the work and together all the separate pieces would make up the art work.
Edgar Reyes is a multimedia artist based in the Baltimore and D.C. area. His work is a reflection of his personal experience as an undocumented youth in the United States. Reyes earned his MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art and has taught at non-profits and private institutions.
Through his creative programming interests and abilities, he nurtures the development of youth-driven arts-based leadership initiatives, that advocate how art and design can assist in self-expression and easing of cultural tensions.
His art practice highlights the beauty of being Mexican American, yet questions his national and cultural traditions. Like many other Chicano Artist he challenges social norms to bring forth awareness of what it means to be Latino.
