From “The Sorrow Songs” of W.E.B. Du Bois through the Harlem Renaissance to hip-hop and DefPoetry, African Americans have contributed a continuing legacy of spoken word and performance art. Come celebrate this legacy with performances from members of the Goucher community, hosted by Goucher’s own Queenearth and local poet, singer, and artist Words. Interested performers should contact Melissa Smith at melissa.smith@ goucher.edu.
