deja vu? sacrebleu!

We’ve seen the water lillies, Monet! We get that you like bold colors, Matisse! Ever wonder why artists repeat themselves in their work? The Walters Art Museum has, and they decided to do something about it. From October 8th through January 1st, 2008, the Walters is holding a special exhibition titled “Deja Vu? Revealing Repetition in French Masterpieces.” The exhibition, which occurs weekly, Wednesdays through Sundays, examines these repetitions, what they meant, and how they effected modern art, in a stunning gallery walk-through. With more than 60 paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, and bronze sculptures by David, Ingres, Delacroix, Monet, Degas, Cezanne, Matisse, and others, this is one exhibit not to be missed. Student tickets are six dollars with ID. To see the Walters website, click here.
