Scholarship Fund Established in Memory of Professor

On Wednesday, August 18, Goucher received sad news about the death of Joan Morrison, associate professor of mathematics. Morrison was a beloved member of the college’s faculty since 1980. A dynamic teacher and caring individual, she earned the love and respect of faculty, staff, and students. Morrison took justifiable pride in the achievements of her students; she demanded much of them and, in return, received their best efforts.

In recognition of Morrison’s inestimable contributions to Goucher’s students and its community, Goucher College is launching the Joan Scott Morrison Endowed Scholarship Fund. Initiated by a generous donor and friend, this fund is open to gifts from those who wish to commemorate Morrison by supporting the students to whom she was so committed for 30 years.

If anyone would like to contribute to the Joan Scott Morrison Endowed Scholarship Fund, send a check, made payable to Goucher College, to the Development Office, Room 103, Dorsey College Center.  Please include this notation with your gift: Joan Morrison Scholarship Fund.
